Calacirya Foundation is an organization
dedicated to facilitating growth. Beyond our work
with indigenous peoples of Guatemala we are also committed
to bringing people from different parts of the world
together to learn from one another. Calacirya
Foundation invites individuals and groups to take advantage
of the unique opportunity of living, learning, and volunteering
amidst the beauty and warmth of Guatemala.
Our goal is to teach through involvement with indigenous
communities and team oriented experiential learning
activities. Trips are designed on an individual
basis according to personal and team goals. Because
we enjoy the confidence of the local people, no matter
what they choose, groups and individuals are given a
rare and intimate opportunity to experience life within
Mayan communities. |

Whether doing volunteer work in the highlands of Guatemala
or sailing the Caribbean, our programs are experiential
in nature, fun by design and flexible enough to work
for a large cross-section of people. Our approach
is based on a model of appreciative inquiry in which
members can learn the difference between focusing on
problems, and moving in harmony with their teammates
towards solutions. This critical difference illustrates
a little used understanding and is an important key
to making positive changes individually or in a group.
Calacirya Foundation offers a
prime opportunity to discover one's innate potential.
Introducing the element of a foreign culture opens people to change and learning. Combining this concept with volunteer work and our experiential learning programs makes time spent with Calacirya Foundation a truly exceptional experience. When peoples of different cultures are brought together in the spirit of good will and understanding, life-changing events happen.
