Because
Calacirya Foundation is small, all monies raised are
highly valued, and funds are distributed solely by the
founders. This insures proper usage of funding
and results in greater positive outcomes. In addition
to Calacirya Foundation's own projects, we also support
local organizations with complementary missions in order
to better serve communities. |

Emily
Webb holds a B.S. in Equestrian Studies with
an emphasis on teaching and training. After graduating
at the top of her class, she continued to explore her
love for teaching students and training horses - as well
as traveling and learning about other cultures.
She is the co-founder of Calacirya Foundation, a 501(c)3
U.S. non-profit organization, working with the indigenous
peoples of Guatemala. Ms. Webb is the owner of a
successful small business in the U.S. and has worked and
traveled extensively in Latin America. There, she
discovered a way to draw upon her eclectic experiences,
putting them to use to enrich the lives of the local people.
Emily has been living in Guatemala since January 2001. |

Christian
Nix received a B.A. in English Literature from
the University of Virginia. He is a one time professor
of English and History at Institute Montana, Zugerberg,
Switzerland, and an independent professor of Spanish and
English in San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala. Since
co-founding Calacirya Foundation in 2002 - a 501(c)3 US
non-profit organization - the intensity of his work has
increased many fold. Mr. Nix’s strength lies
in his ability to reach a diverse cross section of humanity
– rich, poor, educated, uneducated, worldly and
innocent. Christian has been involved in youth development
and community activities in Guatemala, where he has resided
since March 1999. |
